"[Dave] really took me to another level ... my seat and riding has improved a lot! My horses got a lot more flow and swing to their movement and also became much more uphill! I also use Dave’s advice and techniques for my own students to help them understand how to correctly ride from the seat ... My stable hopes to continue cooperation with Dave in the future so even more riders can benefit from his help! Absolutely recommended!"

"His in-depth study of the biomechanics of the rider gives him knowledge to help the rider to solve problems regarding their seat and influence of their aids ... I use many of the same tools with my own students with great success ... It seems like he has tools for every individual problem and situation. There is always a great development, smiling riders and satisfied horses after each lesson."

Clinics with Dave

In addition to his expertise, Dave is well known for his energetic, positive, articulate, and thought provoking yet simple teaching style. "It doesn't have to be  difficult."  Auditors are encouraged to attend and ask questions as they watch the process of improved performance using Dave’s system. Dave also teaches a variety of lectures and unmounted work (body awareness exercises).

What to Expect

From Training through Grand Prix, Dave focuses on good basics while always taking an individual approach for each horse-rider team. Dave strictly adheres to the principles of the German classical training scale and short-cuts are not taken for the sake of short-lived success. On an as needed basis, Dave will briefly mount any of the large variety of horses taking part in a clinic.  Dave has the gift to impart knowledge to riders of all levels, but is especially talented at obtaining measurable improvement in show horses/riders.

Structure

A typical two to three-day clinic would consist of ten 45-minute sessions or eight  1-hour sessions. 3-day clinics normally feature one  2-hour lecture.
